The snake-like robot goes where no humans or other robots can go!

RoBoa is a startup from ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Its uniqueness lies in the revolutionary combination of a growing-based locomotion with an innovative steering design, enabling it to navigate confined spaces, slippery or sharp surfaces, and winding paths. 

With a small and adaptable diameter of 5-10 cm, the steerable and tethered robot maintains data connectivity over more than 100 meters and can supply liquids. Its soft pneumatic design ensures safety even in explosive environments. It is equipped with advanced sensors and autonomous mapping capabilities to enhance situational awareness and collect vital maintenance data to minimize industrial downtime.
